Taras Shapravskyi, secretary of the Bucha City Council, has received a laureate’s diploma of the Verkhovna Rada Prize for the contribution of young people to the development of parliamentarism and local self-government. The prizes were presented on 21 October by Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk.
This was reported by Taras Shapravskyi himself.
The prize was awarded to him back in a Verkhovna Rada resolution of 20 December 2023. The resolution describes Taras Shapravskyi as secretary of the Bucha City Council and commander of Bucha community Volunteer Formation No. 1.
This time diplomas were handed to the laureates for 2023–2025, 60 young people in total. Most of them are military personnel and veterans, Holos Ukrainy reports. Those at the ceremony honoured the memory of fallen laureates Mykola Shevchenko and Farid Hussein.
Taras Shapravskyi says that local self-government is always teamwork. That is why he considers the award to be shared by the whole city council team led by mayor Anatolii Fedoruk and by the council’s deputies.
As a reminder, three volunteers from a mobile fire team in Bucha recently received Air Force awards.
