Residents of Irpin are getting stuck in lifts more and more often because the power goes off suddenly. Outages in the community last 12 to 14 hours a day in total.

Irpin City Council secretary and acting mayor Anzhela Makeieva reported this.

If you get stuck, above all do not panic. Use the dispatcher call button or contact the emergency service of the organisation that manages your building, and do not try to open the doors or climb out yourself.

Lifts in municipal buildings are serviced by the UZhKH Irpin utility, whose 24-hour number is (04597) 63-005. In buildings run by homeowners’ associations or private management companies, residents should call them, as municipal workers have no access to those lift shafts.

Heads of homeowners’ associations and building managers are asked to explain this to residents and, where possible, to restrict lift use a few minutes before scheduled outages. Residents are urged to follow the schedules and avoid lifts when the power is unstable.

The community has also set up two mobile points for charging devices in Tsentralnyi and Mamy parks, open from 15:00 to 21:00. Resilience points at the city council, the Irpinvodokanal utility and 5 Shevchenka Street now stay open until 21:00.

As a reminder, the Irpin water utility received five more generators for the outages.
