The Bucha Kvartal 2 homeowners’ association has raised 2.4 million hryvnias from the state SvitloDim programme and installed 17 inverters and 19 batteries. The association covers 10 buildings with 881 flats in Bucha.
Bucha City Council reported this.
The backup power lasts 10–12 hours. It runs the lifts, the pumping station, lighting inside the buildings and outdoors, intercoms, cameras and automatic watering.
According to the association’s board chair Tetiana Sorokina, every nine-storey building got three-phase 15 kW inverters and 15 kW batteries. The five-storey buildings have 5 kW systems in their switch rooms for lighting, intercoms and cameras.
The association applied to the programme in June, and the equipment was installed in July. The first backup systems for the pumps that raise water pressure were installed here in 2023, and for street lighting a year later.
Tetiana Sorokinaboard chair of the Bucha Kvartal 2 homeowners’ associationResidents are very pleased, especially where the lifts are powered. We have light in the courtyards and stairwells. That is very important.
Bucha City Council showed how the backup power works in the association’s buildings in a video.
How SvitloDim works
The SvitloDim programme provides 100,000 to 300,000 hryvnias to buy equipment for a building’s autonomous power supply. It runs until the end of the year.
The Ministry for Communities and Territories Development counts 2,977 apartment buildings nationwide that have already received funding, worth more than 752 million hryvnias in total. Step-by-step instructions and the application are on the ministry’s website.
As a reminder, the Bucha community is installing 20 more battery modules at critical infrastructure sites before winter.
