The Voices of Silence peaceful rally in support of prisoners of war and missing defenders will take place in Bucha on Saturday, 31 October. It starts at 11:00.

This was announced by the Bucha City Council.

Participants will gather on the Varshavska highway near the NOVUS supermarket at 104-D Kyievo-Myrotska Street. The rallies on 3 and 17 October were held at the same place.

The rally is meant to remind people of Ukrainian defenders who are still in captivity or are considered missing. The city council stresses that families waiting for news need to feel the community’s support and know that their loved ones are remembered.

Who is still awaited at home

At the rally on 3 October, relatives and friends held posters with the names and portraits of soldiers and civilians who are still in russian captivity or are considered missing.

In September the city council said 188 residents of the community are still awaited at home: 148 are considered missing and another 40 are in captivity.

The latest exchange took place on 23 October, when 270 Ukrainians were brought home from captivity.

As a reminder, in early September Voices of Silence participants lined the road with portraits of the missing and captured.
