Bucha marked its 125th anniversary without concerts or loud celebrations. Mayor Anatolii Fedoruk thanked volunteers, entrepreneurs and active residents of the community and honoured the most active of them, young people among them.
This was reported by Bucha mayor Anatolii Fedoruk.
The mayor presented state awards to the families of five fallen soldiers. By presidential decree, Yevhen Zozulia, Oleksii Marchenko, Artem Kolesnyk, Serhii Zaiats and Vitalii Voronitskyi were posthumously awarded the Order for Courage, 3rd class.
In the morning the town’s honorary citizens were congratulated on the anniversary. Gifts for Town Day went to people who have worked for the community for many years, teachers, artists, craftspeople and managers, the city council said.
“This year without concerts and loud celebrations. But with great gratitude to everyone who defends our town, works for it and loves it,” Fedoruk wrote.
As a reminder, for the 125th anniversary we told the story of how a railway halt among the pines became a town the whole world knows.
