Because of russian shelling and power outages in the Bucha district, street lights and traffic lights may not work. Drivers find it harder to spot pedestrians in time, and pedestrians to judge the road.
This was a reminder from the Bucha District Administration, which shared advice from the Ministry of Health.
Advice for pedestrians
Choose light or bright clothing and use reflective elements. Attach them to outerwear, ideally at hip height, as well as to bags and backpacks.
A torch will help in the dark. When walking along the street, do not get distracted by your phone and do not wear headphones.
Walk on pavements, and where there are none, on the roadside facing traffic. Cross the road only at designated places and make sure it is safe first.
Children should be taught the rules of the road and not left alone near a road.
Advice for drivers
Drivers are advised to slow down and keep their distance, especially near crossings, stops, schools and shops. Before opening a car door, check that nobody is approaching.
Keep windows, headlights and mirrors clean and always wear a seat belt.
As a reminder, emergency power outages were introduced again in the Bucha district on 16 October.
