Almost 40 million hryvnias in subventions for the military have been allocated in the budget of the Borshchahivka community. The money will go to 17 military units that asked for help.
This was reported by the Borshchahivka village council. The decisions were taken at a session on 15 October.
Support for Heroes of Ukraine and soldiers
Councillors changed the comprehensive Defender of Ukraine programme. From now on, residents of the community awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine will be entitled to one-off financial assistance.
The same payment is provided for families of Heroes awarded the title posthumously. Another 20 servicemen from the community who are on the housing waiting list will receive one-off assistance to buy a home.

The village council approved a new programme to co-finance the repair and fitting-out of basements in apartment blocks. They will be adapted as simple shelters.
The programme will allow local budget money to be used for this. The community says residents will be safer during attacks.
Soldiers of the 141st Separate Mechanised Brigade and the unmanned systems battalion of the 12th Azov Brigade attended the session. They gave the community letters of thanks and their units’ flags.
As a reminder, under the Defender of Ukraine programme the Borshchahivka community pays defenders and their families up to 70,000 hryvnias a year.
