On the evening of 16 October large parts of Bucha and Irpin, as well as Vyshneve and Borshchahivka, lost power, including buildings that were supposed to have electricity under the schedules. The same evening Ukrenergo introduced emergency power cuts in several regions, and the previously published schedules do not apply there.

This was reported by Ukrenergo, and the outages in the towns by local Telegram channels.

What is known

According to local Telegram channels, residents first noticed a power surge, and then the electricity went off.

Ukrenergo attributes the emergency cuts to the difficult situation in the power system caused by russian attacks. It did not specify which regions are affected.

Energy workers are trying to restore supply as quickly as possible. The emergency cuts will be lifted once the power system stabilises.

Where to check your address

You can check the power supply at your address on the DTEK Kyiv Regional Electric Networks website or in the company’s Telegram bot. The bot also lets you report that you have no power.

Ukrenergo asks those who have electricity to use it sparingly, as the situation in the power system may change.

As a reminder, emergency power cuts were already applied in the Bucha district on the morning of 16 October.
