The Patriots unit of Zdvyzhivka Gymnasium No. 14 in the Bucha community has officially welcomed new young Cossacks. The school held a traditional initiation celebration for the pupils.

This was reported by Bucha City Council. Units, or ‘roi’, are the teams in the Dzhura military-patriotic game.

During the celebration the young participants learned from older members in the middle grades. They showed agility, quick wits and Cossack team spirit.

The children received certificates for their achievements and training. After the trials everyone was treated to traditional Cossack porridge.

The city council called the initiation an important step in the national and patriotic education of pupils and in preserving Ukrainian traditions.

As a reminder, in August young people in Zdvyzhivka spent a night in a field watching the Perseids.
