Veterans with limb amputations from the Bilohorodka community are invited to try amputee football. On Monday, 19 October, a meeting with representatives of the Shakhtar Stalevi project will be held in Bilohorodka.
This was reported by Bilohorodka Village Council. The meeting will discuss setting up a team in the community.
Amputee football is football for people with amputations or impaired limb function. Outfield players move on crutches and play without prostheses, while goalkeepers defend the goal with one arm.
Shakhtar Stalevi is an amputee football project of Shakhtar Social Foundation. It brings veterans together through joint training and competitions, and the village council calls it a chance to return to an active life.
Project representatives will talk about training and how to take part and answer questions. The exact address and time of the meeting are available from Viacheslav Volovyk on 093 093 20 33.
As a reminder, a rehabilitation space for veterans opened at the Kyiv Regional Hospital.
