FC Bucha Fortuna lost 1-3 to Kyiv side Tytan on Wednesday, 21 October, in the second leg of the Ukrainian Amateur Cup quarter-final. Tytan won the tie 5-2 on aggregate and go through to the semi-finals.
This is based on our live text coverage and the match recording on FC Tytan’s channel.
How it happened
Tytan opened the scoring in the 25th minute. Roman Tkachenko took a corner, Kostiantyn Beziazychnyi nodded the ball back towards the goal line and Oleh Yankovskyi got there first. The Bucha bench appealed for offside, but referee Yevhen Makarenko allowed the goal.
In the 33rd minute Tkachenko broke into the box and set up Yaroslav Hlynianyi to make it 2-0. Bucha replied with shots from Mykyta Sviderskyi and Ihor Soldat: the first went over, the second was blocked.
For the second half Volodymyr Bondarenko brought on Vasyl Koropetskyi for Kristian Turku and switched to three centre-backs. Ihor Nesterenko, Bohdan Hora and Danylo Kislov came on later. Tytan goalkeeper Heorhii Kopaliani saved another Soldat shot.
The game grew more physical: Dmytro Shakun, Koropetskyi and Bondarenko himself were booked. Beziazychnyi had to leave the pitch after a collision with Koropetskyi.
In the 88th minute Roman Kuchma, on as a substitute 11 minutes earlier, scored the third goal from Hlynianyi’s pass.
Bucha replied in stoppage time: Nesterenko won a penalty and Mykyta Makhynia, just as in the first leg, converted it to make it 1-3.
What the game showed
A set piece broke the game open. Until the 25th minute Bucha held their own, but from a corner Tytan won the aerial duel and Bucha could not clear the ball off the line.
Tkachenko was the main threat again. He scored in the first leg, and today he took the corner before the first goal and set up the second.
The reshuffle created little. After the break Bucha switched to three centre-backs and made four changes, but created few clear chances. Their only goal came from a stoppage-time penalty.
Makhynia was the only one to beat Tytan. Both of Bucha’s goals in the tie were penalties scored by Mykyta Makhynia.
No comeback this time. In the previous round Bucha recovered against Rokyta and went through on penalties, but they could not repeat it against Tytan.

As a reminder, Bucha lost the first leg 1-2 to Tytan, and the game was interrupted by an air raid alert for more than an hour.
