Near Vyshneve railway station, a Warsaw–Kyiv passenger train fatally injured a 72-year-old woman. She was walking next to the railway track.
This was reported by the Kyiv region police on 13 October. The driver sounded the horn and applied the emergency brake, but could not avoid hitting her.
The woman died of her injuries at the scene. Investigators have opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code, which covers violations of railway safety rules.
The police remind people that railway infrastructure is a high-risk area. They advise crossing the tracks only at designated places.
As a reminder, on 29 September a commuter train fatally injured a 17-year-old near Bucha station.
