The fatal accident happened on 29 September near Bucha railway station: a 17-year-old boy was killed by an electric train.

This was reported by the Kyiv region police.

Police received the report at about 11:22. According to preliminary information, the boy was crossing the tracks at an unauthorised spot and was hit by a Korosten — Borshchahivka electric train.

The driver sounded the horn but could not prevent the tragedy. The 17-year-old died of his injuries at the scene.

Investigators have opened criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, violation of railway traffic or operating safety rules resulting in death.

This is the second fatal incident on the railway in Bucha in two days.

As a reminder, on 28 September a freight train fatally injured a woman near the Sklozavodska platform in Bucha.
