The tragedy happened on 28 September in Bucha near the Sklozavodska railway platform: a Korosten — Darnytsia freight train fatally injured a woman. She died at the scene.

This was reported by the Kyiv region police.

According to preliminary information, the woman was on the tracks at a place not intended for crossing. The train driver sounded the horn and applied the emergency brake, but could not avoid hitting her.

Investigators of the Bucha district police department have opened a pre-trial investigation under Part 3 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code — violation of traffic safety or transport operation rules.

The police remind residents that railway infrastructure is a high-risk zone and urge them to follow safety rules.

As a reminder, after a tragedy in Irpin in July, an underground crossing under the railway there was partly reopened.
