The veterans’ team of SK Sofiia from Sofiivska Borshchahivka will take part in the Ukrainian football championship for veterans aged 35 and over. It will play its group-stage matches on Saturday, 24 October, in Fastiv.

This was reported by the Bucha District Football Association.

In group Centre-1, Sofiia will face FC Fastiv and FC Vasylkiv. The group winners and the best runner-up on additional criteria will reach the final stage on 7–8 November.

The championship is organised by the Ukrainian Football Veterans Association with the support of the Ukrainian Association of Football. It is dedicated to the memory of footballers killed defending Ukraine. Players born in 1991 or earlier can take part, in an 11-a-side format.

Because of the fixture clash, the round 6 Bucha district top-league match FC Vyshneve v SK Sofiia has been moved from Saturday to Sunday, 25 October. Kick-off is at 5:30 p.m. at the Zenit stadium in Boiarka, the association said.

The same round’s match Hostynnyi Dvir (Vyshneve) v Kimerka (Hostomel) will be moved to another date at Kimerka’s request: six of its players are also playing in the veterans’ championship.

As a reminder, last round Sofiia beat Viktoriia 2–1 for their fourth win in a row.
