War veteran Serhii Hurduza from Vorzel has won the Ukrainian sitting volleyball championship as part of the Kyiv region team. The competition took place in Ternopil from 14 to 18 October.

This was reported by the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.

The Kyiv region went through the tournament without a single defeat. Dnipropetrovsk region took silver and Rivne region bronze. Mixed teams from nine regions competed for the title.

Alongside Hurduza, gold went to Roman and Andrii Pryshchepa from the Makariv community, as well as Yevhen Samilyk, Denys Bytchenko, Viktor Chonhovai, Valentyna Palii, Yurii Zekun, Oleksii Skiteikin, Anatolii Chupriianov and Ruslan Horiakin. The team is coached by Pavlo Tarasenko and Liudmyla Slipenka.

Serhii Hurduza coaches veterans at the Academy of Sport in Bucha. In March he won gold with the Ukrainian national team at the international Air Force and Marine Corps Trials in the US, the Bucha City Council reported.

As a reminder, in September Hurduza already became Ukrainian sitting volleyball champion among veterans with VolleyBrothers.
