Women from the Bucha community can have a free mammogram at the Kyiv Regional Oncology Centre. The screenings for them and for residents of three other communities in the Kyiv region were organised as part of the Pink October campaign.

This was reported by the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.

Mammograms are free with an electronic referral under the Programme of Medical Guarantees. The administration advises consulting a family doctor first about which examinations are needed.

To see more women, the centre has set aside extra hours and works in two shifts. The communities, in turn, have arranged free transport for patients to the hospital.

The centre is at 1 Zahorivska Street in Kyiv. Details are available from its call centre at 097-115-32-56, 050-775-73-11 or 044-344-39-50, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Pink October is an annual international breast cancer awareness month. In its early stages the disease may have no obvious symptoms, while early detection greatly improves the chances of successful treatment.

As a reminder, more than 300 residents of the Makariv community have already had free screening for people aged 40 and over.
