On 20 October a contractor began a major repair of the roof of the Lisova Pisnia kindergarten in Irpin. 2,264 square metres of roof will be renewed, along with the building’s entrance area.
This was reported by Irpin’s first deputy mayor Oleksandr Pashchynskyi.
City councillors allocated the money for the repair in the summer. The project includes removing old structures, a new profiled sheet roof, an external drainage system, monolithic structures and a canopy.
The roof was last overhauled more than two decades ago, and it leaked. Lisova Pisnia is one of the largest kindergartens in Irpin.
The kindergarten was damaged during the fighting but reopened in 2023 with state budget money and UNICEF support.
Last year the community renovated the kindergarten grounds for the first time in over 30 years, replacing unsafe gazebos, updating playgrounds and building a mini football pitch.
