The new week in the Bucha district will be dry and colder than any so far this autumn. Daytime temperatures will not rise above +8°C, and the first frosts arrive at the weekend: on the night before Sunday, 8 November, Bucha will drop to −4°C.
This is shown by the Kyiv Hydrometeorological Centre forecast and Open-Meteo model data for the district’s communities.
An anticyclone instead of rain
For weeks we had warm, damp air from the south. Now an anticyclone is forming over Western Europe, and cold air will flow in from the north.
No precipitation is expected under high pressure, while temperatures will fall gradually, especially at night, the Hydrometeorological Centre explains.
You will hardly need an umbrella this week: only on Tuesday is drizzle possible in places. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with clear spells.
First frost on Thursday, the hardest on Sunday
The model shows Bucha reaching zero as early as the night before Thursday, 5 November. On the night before Saturday, 7 November, it will drop to −3°C, and on the night before Sunday to −4°C.
The coldest place in the district will be Piskivka in the Borodianka community, at around −4°C on the night before Sunday. The mildest will be Vyshneve, where the frost will not go below −3.5°C.

Is this normal for November?
Yes. By climate normals, Kyiv’s average November daytime high is +5.3°C and the overnight low +0.4°C. So this week’s days will be slightly warmer than normal and its weekend nights colder.
November is also one of the gloomiest months of the year: on average Kyiv sees only 51 hours of sunshine in the whole month.
Sunset before half past four
Daylight will shrink by another 20 minutes over the week, from 9 h 42 min on Monday to 9 h 22 min on Sunday. On Sunday, 8 November, the sun will rise in Bucha at 07:01 and set at 16:23.
An hourly forecast for Bucha and other places in the district is in our Weather section, and the full seven days are on the "Week" tab.
As a reminder, the cold snap coincides with the start of the heating season: Irpin will heat apartment blocks from 2 November.
