Rudersdal, a municipality on the outskirts of Copenhagen, is to become Bucha’s new partner in Denmark. This was agreed on Monday, 26 October, during a visit by a Danish delegation to the city.
This was announced by Bucha Mayor Anatolii Fedoruk.
The visitors were the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine, Thomas Lund-Sørensen, and Rudersdal city councillor Jens Kloppenborg. On behalf of Rudersdal Mayor Ann Sofie Orth, the councillor confirmed the municipality’s readiness to cooperate.
Rudersdal has already allocated 300,000 Danish kroner for annual support of the Bucha community. At the official NBU rate that is over UAH 2 million.
The guests were shown landmarks of Bucha and water supply facilities that the community is modernising with funding from the Danish government. The sides also discussed the next steps towards signing an official partnership agreement.
As a reminder, Bucha’s Hungarian twin, the Budapest district of Ferencváros, has promised the community help before winter.
