A major overhaul of the storm drainage system has begun at the junction of Ukrainska and Literaturna streets in Irpin. Storm drain inlets will be installed there.

This was reported by Oleksandr Pashchynskyi, first deputy mayor of Irpin.

A lot of housing has been built in the area in recent years. The existing drainage can no longer cope with rainwater, so after rain water collects in some places.

The work is being done by a developer. The new storm drainage system will be 668 metres long in total.

A one-way traffic scheme is also being drawn up for part of Ukrainska Street, from Literaturna to Rudenka. Parking spaces are planned there as well to tidy up the area.

As a reminder, in August Irpin graded Sahaidachnoho Street, which used to wash out after every rain.
