The Bucha Children and Youth Sports School has opened enrolment for girls and boys aged 8 and over in hortyng classes, Bucha City Council reported along with the school’s own page.

Hortyng is a modern martial art that combines elements of sambo, judo, karate and jiu-jitsu. The school says training will help children build strength and stamina, develop resilience and respect for opponents, learn to make quick decisions and feel more confident in themselves.

Classes will be taught by the school’s coach Bohdan Mertviachenko.

Bucha already has medallists in combat sports: recently young kickboxers from Bucha brought home a set of medals from the Kyiv Cup.
