The government has approved extra payments for specialists restoring critical energy, utility and railway facilities after russian attacks. Each will receive UAH 30,000 for every month of taking part in this work.
This was announced by Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi.
The payment covers energy, heating and gas workers, staff of water supply and sewerage companies, utility services and railway workers. It will be paid from November until the end of the heating season.
According to the prime minister, the scale of the attacks is unprecedented for the whole of the full-scale war. Every day 300–400 drones are launched at critical infrastructure, and more than 2,000 hits have been recorded since August.
As a result, power lines and exposed parts of the grid have to be restored again and again, on a scale many times greater than in all previous years. “This is the least the state can do for these specialists now,” Koretskyi wrote.
In winter the payment was 20,000
A similar payment already existed this year. A resolution of 23 January launched a pilot project, and workers involved in emergency repairs in January to March received an additional UAH 20,000 a month.
In April Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal said that more than 14,000 workers had received this money, with over UAH 280 million set aside for the payments in total.
As a reminder, Vorzel was left without water after attacks on energy facilities.
