The Ministry of Energy is urging residents of the Bucha area and the whole country not to film or publish photos and videos from places where energy facilities have been hit.

This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.

In recent weeks russia has significantly stepped up attacks on energy infrastructure and is deliberately targeting power lines and transformers, the ministry stresses. Energy workers are working around the clock to restore equipment and bring power back to homes.

Even a short video or a single photo may contain details important to the enemy: where exactly the strike happened, what damage the facility suffered and how repairs are progressing. This information can be used to adjust further attacks.

Such footage also creates risks for the workers restoring the networks. That is why the ministry asks people not to film strike sites, damaged facilities, the movement of repair crews or the progress of restoration work.

Operational information about the aftermath of attacks and the state of the power system is published only on official resources, carefully and without excessive detail, the ministry reminded. Today, 8 October, emergency power outages were introduced in the Bucha area.

As a reminder, spreading videos of strikes can lead to up to 12 years in prison, the SBU has warned.
