The Security Service of Ukraine has urged people not to film or post photos and videos of enemy attacks online, especially footage of strikes on military sites and critical infrastructure and of air defence at work.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine. The appeal was also shared by Bucha City Council.
The SBU explains that such footage is used not only by russian propagandists. The russian military tracks and analyses these videos to adjust repeat strikes.
Law enforcement may treat publishing such content as a crime. Depending on the circumstances, it may be classified under Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code, which covers unauthorised disclosure of information about the movement of the Armed Forces and passing information to the aggressor state.
The maximum penalty under this article is up to 12 years in prison. SBU operational units systematically track such posts online and bring their authors to justice.
