Elevated levels of fine dust were recorded on 8 October in Vyshneve in Bucha district. The same temporary deterioration in air quality is being observed in Ivankiv, Boiarka, Obukhiv and Brovary.

This was reported by the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.

According to the monitoring stations, the main pollutant is fine dust. At the same time the situation is gradually improving and pollution levels are falling, the administration noted.

Fine dust consists of particles so small that they get deep into the airways. Children, older people and those with heart or lung conditions are the most sensitive to them.

No excess levels of chemical or biological substances in the air were recorded in other towns and villages of Kyiv region. Gamma radiation levels in the region are at natural background levels.

As a reminder, on 1 October air quality in Kyiv region worsened in three towns.
