Wednesday is the middle of the week, when you want a filling dinner without standing at the stove for long. Oven-baked chicken legs are just that: a few minutes for the marinade, and the oven does the rest.
The recipe was shared by the Polish food publication Kwestia Smaku.
Both drumsticks and whole leg quarters will do — only the baking time changes.
What you need
- chicken legs — 1 kg (about 6) or 4 whole leg quarters;
- salt, pepper;
- ½ tsp each of turmeric, sweet ground paprika, oregano and thyme;
- garlic — 1 clove;
- lemon juice — 2 tbsp;
- extra virgin olive oil — 3 tbsp;
- optional — 1 tbsp butter.
How to make it
1. Prepare the meat. Wash the chicken legs and pat them dry with paper towels. Season with salt (about 1 tsp) and pepper.
2. Marinate. Sprinkle with the turmeric, paprika, oregano and thyme, add the grated garlic clove, lemon juice and oil. Mix, rubbing the meat thoroughly on all sides.

4. Bake. Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes (drumsticks) or about 1 hour 15 minutes (whole leg quarters). Baste the meat with the juices 2–3 times during baking.
5. Serve. Serve with potatoes and a salad — for example lettuce, pepper, onion, tomatoes and mini mozzarella with a honey dressing of oil, lemon juice, honey, salt and pepper.

As a reminder, last time in Tasty Bucha we cooked a mushroom soup with no blender and no wild mushrooms.
