The works concern cluster MK-10 — the designation given in the project documentation to a group of buildings repaired together. It includes blocks 1 and 2 on Molodizhna Street in Komarivka. The work is being carried out under the project "Housing Repair for People's Empowerment", known by its English acronym HOPE.

The meeting was announced by the Makariv Settlement Council. The project is financed by the World Bank.

Where and when

The meeting is set for Monday, 3 August, at 15:00. The venue is the House of Culture in Komarivka at 27A Myru Street. For those unable to attend in person, remote participation is available via a Google Meet link published by the settlement council together with the announcement.

Public consultations in such projects are not a formality: it is at this stage that residents see exactly what is planned for their building and can suggest changes while the project documentation is not yet approved.

What will be discussed

Residents will be told how and when the technical survey of the buildings will take place — without it the scope of work cannot be determined. Next comes the stages of developing the project documentation: from survey to finished estimate usually takes several months.

Questions will be answered by representatives of the Makariv Settlement Council, the consultant — the joint venture Consult Project-Market — and the Project Management Group. In other words, both the client and the designer will be at the same table.

Not the first cluster in the community

Komarivka is not the only HOPE address in the Makariv community. A few days earlier the settlement council invited residents of buildings on Fastivska Street to the same kind of consultations — the next cluster of the same programme.

The HOPE mechanism is designed specifically for apartment housing damaged during hostilities. For the Makariv area, through which the front line ran in March 2022, it is one of the few instruments that allows a building to be repaired in full rather than patching the roof at the residents' expense.
