The district commission has approved cash compensation for housing for two veterans whose documents were sent by Bucha City Council. Both applications were considered at a regular meeting on 8 October.
This was reported by the Bucha District Military Administration.
The compensation is granted under Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 719 on housing for people who defended Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity and their family members.
Combat veterans with Group I–II disabilities and family members of fallen defenders with the relevant status are entitled to this support. Being on the housing waiting list is a mandatory condition, the Kyiv Regional Military Administration explains.
The money goes to a special account, and the person chooses the home they want to buy. The amount is set individually, taking into account family size, existing housing, disability and housing prices in the region.
This year the government allocated 648.9 million hryvnias to Kyiv region for such compensation for 239 veterans and their family members. 160 recipients have already bought their own homes. The conditions and application procedure are described on the Kyiv Regional Military Administration website.
As a reminder, on Defenders Day Hostomel honoured 20 veterans and service members.
