The Estonian Rescue Board has handed over two large containers of equipment to Ukrainian rescuers. The handover took place on 29 September in Vyshneve near Kyiv.

This was reported by the Rescue Board itself. The containers held helmets, protective clothing, motor pumps, generators, fire hoses and a small tractor.

Ukrainian rescuers put the small tractor to work as soon as it was unloaded from the container, says the head of the humanitarian mission, Tarmo Voltein.

The intensity of Russian attacks in Ukraine has grown in recent weeks, especially drone and missile attacks, so equipment wears out quickly.

The Rescue Board’s director general, Margo Klaos, stresses that it is rescuers who deal with the aftermath of attacks far from the front line. The hardest winter of the war is probably ahead, so Estonia is trying to help as much as possible.

This is not the first time the Estonian Rescue Board has helped Ukraine. It has previously sent rescue vehicles, drones, bomb suits, helmets and generators for rescuers and deminers.

As a reminder, attacks on Bucha district injured 7 people in a single day. Rescuers had to put out fires and clear the rubble of a warehouse.
