The crossing has opened only partially — pedestrians can move in both directions, but only between two points: Tsentralna Street and Aviakonstruktora Antonova Square.

This was announced by Irpin City Council.

Before the opening, the site was inspected by Irpin's acting mayor Anzhela Makeyeva and Dmytro Kopera, head of the South-Western Railway regional branch.

The platform exits remain closed for repair work, which Ukrzaliznytsia plans to complete by 20 July. Warning signs marking hazardous, restricted-access zones will be installed throughout the crossing and the surrounding area.

The city council asks residents to bear with the temporary inconvenience, follow safety rules and stay out of the work zones. The full opening — including platform access — will be announced separately.

For context: on 8 July, a freight train in Irpin struck and killed a 26-year-old woman who was crossing the tracks at an unauthorised spot.
