A MAN concrete mixer and a Dodge Dart collided on the road linking Sviatopetrivske and Vyshneve in the Bucha district. Two people travelling in the car were killed.

How the crash happened
According to the preliminary findings of investigators, the 53-year-old driver of the concrete mixer was pulling out of an adjacent site and turning left. A Dodge Dart was travelling along the road at that moment, and the vehicles collided.
The 40-year-old passenger of the car died at the scene. The 36-year-old driver of the Dodge Dart died in hospital.

Investigators of the Kyiv regional police have opened a pre-trial investigation under part 2 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — breaking road safety rules by a person driving a vehicle, causing the death of a victim. The investigation continues.
A left turn out of an adjacent site means the vehicle crosses the oncoming lane. A heavy concrete mixer does that slowly and blocks the carriageway for several seconds — and those seconds are all the time a driver coming along the road has.
There was a similar story in the neighbouring community: in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka a Hyundai driver with 1.23 per mille hit a woman on the pavement.
As a reminder, a 35-year-old motorcyclist was killed on Shevchenka Street in Bucha — a Volkswagen driver failed to give way to him at a turn.
