Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Bucha FM radio collects, why and on what basis, how long we keep it and what rights you have. We collect exactly as much as the site needs to work.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The controller of personal data is the newsroom of Bucha FM radio. For any question about this policy write to the address given in the Contacts section.

2. What data we collect

Account: the name and email address you give us yourself, and a password — which we store only as an irreversible hash, so we neither know it nor can recover it. Newsletter: email address and the language version of the site. Your activity: comments and saved stories. Technical data: anonymised visit and listening statistics, and on signing in, your IP address and browser type so that you can recognise a sign-in that was not yours.

3. Why we do it and on what basis

The account and everything tied to it is processed to perform our agreement with you — so that you can comment and save stories. The newsletter is sent on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw with one click in any letter. Anonymised statistics rest on legitimate interest — to understand what is read and heard.

4. How long we keep data

Account data — for as long as the account exists. Delete the account and we delete the saved stories and service tokens tied to it. A newsletter address — until you unsubscribe. Sign-in records — until the session expires. Anonymised statistics — in aggregate form, not linked to a person.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell your data and do not pass it to advertisers. We use a hosting provider, which stores the database and sends our mail, and the Open-Meteo weather service, which receives none of your data. Where the law requires it, data may be provided to authorised bodies.

6. Cookies

We use technical cookies needed for the site to work: they remember that you are signed in, your language and your choice of theme. Analytics cookies are used only with your consent, given in the banner at the bottom of the page. Without consent, statistics are kept anonymised.

7. Your rights

You have the right to learn what data of yours we process, to receive a copy, to correct inaccuracies, to delete it, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Some of this you can do yourself in your account; for the rest, write to us. You also have the right to complain to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.

8. Protection and changes

We take technical and organisational measures to protect your data from loss and unauthorised access: the connection to the site is encrypted, passwords are stored as hashes, and access to the database is restricted. If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of the page.

9. Advertising

Advertising on the site is served by our own server. It sets no cookies, builds no reader profile and passes none of your data to advertisers.
