Bucha has unveiled a memorial plaque to the outstanding artist Liubov Panchenko. The plaque was mounted on the facade of the Bucha Centre of Culture and Arts at 61-V V. Kovalskoho St., timed to the fourth anniversary of the artist's passing — she died on April 30, 2022, after surviving the occupation.

The details appear in the official statement by the Bucha City Council.

Liubov Panchenko was a legend of the sixties generation, a Vasyl Stus Prize laureate and an Honorary Citizen of Bucha. Defying Soviet bans, she spent decades creating unique ornaments and national dress that are now part of Ukraine's cultural heritage.

The Bucha Centre of Culture and Arts already bears the artist's name. On the same day, the centre announced a future memorial museum and presented an exclusive exhibition of Panchenko's works from the private collections of her family and friends. In the community, her art is described simply: the story of unbreakable Bucha.
