Forty-seven years in one library: Irpin makes Olena Tsyhanenko an honorary citizen

The title of Honorary Citizen of Irpin has been given to Olena Tsyhanenko, director of the Maksym Rylskyi city public library.

The decision was announced by acting mayor and council secretary Anzhela Makeieva.

Olena Tsyhanenko has given more than 47 years to the town's cultural and educational work. That is almost the entire history of independent Irpin, and a good stretch before it.

The stated reason is her contribution to Irpin's reputation as a town of artists and poetry. The library is named after Maksym Rylskyi, who lived and worked in these parts.

The decision was taken at the council's 70th session, the last of this summer.

As a reminder, a developer handed the community land for a kindergarten in Irpin — the plot was transferred free of charge.
