Hundreds came to say goodbye: the Kyiv region buried Taras Didych

The head of the Dmytrivka community led it for almost thirty-two years. He died in Myla, where he had gone to be with people.

The Kyiv region has said farewell to the head of the Dmytrivka community, Taras Didych. Hundreds of people came to the funeral.

This was reported by the Bucha District State Administration.

"More eloquent than any words was the sheer number of people at the farewell to Taras Tarasovych. Hundreds gathered to see their head off on his last journey, to remember and to thank him," the district administration said.

Didych was one of the first to set out for the scene of the tragedy in Myla. He went where he felt he had to be, and he died there.

He had led the community for almost thirty-two years, since 1994. The district administration calls this proof of residents' deep trust and of his professionalism.

"For many generations he became a symbol of stability and humanity in such a difficult time," it added.

"Eternal light memory, Taras Tarasovych. You will be remembered in your deeds and in the memories of generations of people you devoted your life to serving," the statement says.
