Artem Sinevych from Mykhailivka-Rubezhivka was killed on 28 August on the Sumy front. He was nineteen.

Anzhela Makeieva, acting mayor of Irpin and secretary of the council, told his story.

Artem was born on 18 June 2007 in Kyiv but lived his whole life in Mykhailivka-Rubezhivka. He spent his childhood and youth there and finished the local school.

From his school years he was active and curious: he took part in olympiads, won medals at sports events, joined the Dzhura movement and was a class leader in his senior years. History interested him most.

In 2024 he joined the Centuria movement and entered the State Tax University in Irpin to study law enforcement. The following year he also enrolled in the military department.

Artem dreamed of freeing his homeland from the occupiers. For that, in June 2026 he moved to part-time study, and from 11 May he was on the roll of military unit A3449.

On 28 August he went out to a combat position. On the way back from the mission the group of servicemen was blown up by an enemy anti-personnel mine. Artem died on the spot.

At nineteen Artem made a choice that many never dare to make in a lifetime. He stood up to defend Ukraine and stayed true to his convictions, his brothers-in-arms and his country to the last.

The farewell took place on Friday, 4 September, in Mykhailivka-Rubezhivka. A guard of honour lined the road from the village of Zabuchchia to Shkilna Street, the service was held at the Church of Michael the Archangel, and Artem was buried at the Bezsmertnivka cemetery.

As a reminder, Irpin remembered the volunteer who drove medicines under shelling.
