Young artist Valeriia Dmytrenko from Bucha has won first prize, the top award of the SUMMER CUP International Competition.

This was reported by Bucha City Council.

Valeriia studies in the fine arts department of the Levko Revutskyi Bucha Children’s School of Arts. Her teacher is Valentyna Vyshkovska.

The competition was held in two rounds. The young artist won over the jury with her skill and bright talent, the city council said, congratulating both the pupil and her teacher.

Drawing at the art school does not stop even during air raid alerts: pupils can attend classes in the shelter of the Family Centre for Mental Well-being in Vorzel. The space was provided by the Tvoia Opora charity foundation.

As a reminder, a memorial room of artist Liubov Panchenko opened in Bucha, with works saved after the occupation.
