Water supply in the Borshchahivka community is gradually being restored. Kyivvodokanal is again accepting wastewater from the community into the capital’s sewer network.

This was reported by the Borshchahivka village council.

On the evening of 8 October, because Kyivvodokanal facilities lost power, the intake of wastewater was temporarily suspended into the capital’s sewer networks, including from the community. This affected drainage and water supply, and no restoration time was given then.

Power to Kyiv’s sewage pumping stations was later restored. It takes time for pressure to stabilise, so water may return to different parts of the community at different times, the council warns.

The community’s water supply depends on Kyiv’s systems. On the evening of 7 October Kyivvodokanal had also temporarily stopped accepting wastewater, leaving part of the community without water.

As a reminder, in August drinking water was delivered in the Borshchahivka community because of contamination near wells and boreholes.
