The ground in the DOZ neighbourhood serves the local lyceum and is at the same time the only open sports space for several nearby streets. Before the reconstruction the surface was so worn that playing on it meant risking an ankle.

The completion of the works was announced on the Kotsiubynske Online Telegram channel.

Surface, equipment and the surrounding area

During the reconstruction the stadium received a modern safety surface, new sports equipment was installed and the surrounding area was tidied up. Photographs from the ground show goals with nets, a basketball backboard and fencing that keeps the ball off the road.

A safety surface is not a cosmetic detail. It determines whether physical education lessons for younger pupils can be held on the ground at all: on hard earth a fall ends in injury, on a modern synthetic surface in a graze.

The project came after residents' requests

The reconstruction was carried out with local budget funds, without regional or donor co-financing. The community notes that the project was implemented in response to requests from residents who asked for a modern sports space.

Construction began in December 2025, meaning the works lasted about eight months with a winter pause. For a facility of this scale that is a normal timeframe, especially when funding comes from the settlement budget in stages.

What this gives Kotsiubynske

The community expects the renovated stadium to become a space not only for lessons but also for active recreation for children and young people outside school hours. Kotsiubynske is part of the Bucha district and borders Kyiv, so its own sports infrastructure competes with the capital's for teenagers' attention.
