Fighters of the Bucha sports club Patriot have returned from the 18th international Olaines Kauss 2026 tournament in the Latvian town of Olaine with fourteen medals: six gold, one silver and seven bronze. Yehor Novarchuk was named the best boxer of the tournament in his age group.

Who was in the ring

The tournament brought together 180 athletes from ten countries. For Bucha this is not a first visit: Olaines Kauss has been held eighteen times, and the ring in Olaine has long been a regular European-level test for the Ukrainian boxing school.

The team was taken to the tournament by Oleksii Adamskyi, president of the Bucha city boxing federation.

Boxing in Bucha

SC Patriot is one of several clubs in the community that regularly take children to international events. Others work alongside it: this year Bucha athletes already brought medals home from the Kyiv Cup.

As a reminder, two Bucha residents played a final in Lviv without once rising from the floor — they became national champions in sitting volleyball.
