The site visit was led by Zhanna Osypenko, deputy head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration. She was joined by deputy mayor Yuliia Osinska and representatives of the administration's Regional Development Department.
First Deputy Mayor Oleksandr Pashchynskyi reported on the progress on the Irpin City Council website.
What is being done right now
Builders are laying tiles on floors and walls in the bathrooms and kitchen, painting walls, installing and connecting plumbing equipment and fitting a fire alarm system. Paving work on the surrounding grounds is proceeding in parallel.
The next stage is purchasing furniture and equipment to fully outfit the facility. That step usually determines the real opening date: structural readiness without furniture and kitchen equipment is not enough to admit children.
Accessibility was built in from the start
The city council stresses that the kindergarten will be accessible to all children: particular attention during construction went to barrier-free design so that every child has equal opportunities. This is a fundamentally different approach from retrofitting ramps onto a finished building.
A distinctive feature is the facility's own swimming pool. For a preschool this is rare even in large cities, since a pool requires separate water treatment, ventilation and staff.
Eight groups — eight playgrounds
A sports ground has already been laid out around the kindergarten, and each of the eight groups has its own play area. This division is not a whim: it lets groups go outside at the same time without mixing, which matters both for safety and for the daily routine.
"We understand well how important the opening of this kindergarten is for the community. That is why we keep the works under constant control and are doing everything possible to finish construction without unnecessary delays while ensuring proper quality and safety," Oleksandr Pashchynskyi said. No exact opening date has been named yet.
