The contest explores the culinary practices of Ukraine's regions and encourages people to research their family history. Its aim is to preserve culinary heritage and establish the tradition of baking a pie for Independence Day.

The opportunity to take part was announced by the Bucha District State Administration.

What has changed this year

In 2026 a separate category was created for communities, groups and collectives. Now not only individuals but also territorial communities, villages, streets and other associations can enter.

For the villages of the Bucha district this is a chance to show their own recipes — the ones passed down in families that usually never leave the home kitchen.
