Bucha Fortuna have reached the quarter-finals of the Ukrainian Cup for amateur teams, beating Rokyta of Poltava region 4-2 on penalties. Regular and extra time at the Yuvileinyi finished 3-2: club debutant Mykyta Dzen scored in the 18th and 24th minutes and Mykyta Makhynia in the 97th. The tie ended 3-3 on aggregate.

The result was announced by the club: “A match that had everything! Air-raid alerts, goals, a fight to the last minute — and in the end it was settled by a penalty shoot-out.” The goal record was published by the Amateur Football Association of Ukraine.

How it happened

Before kick-off the Ukrainian anthem was sung at the Yuvileinyi and the fallen were honoured with a minute of silence. The first touch of the ball was given to Vasyl Husakov, a soldier of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade: from the start of the full-scale invasion he served in Bucha’s territorial defence, then fought in Luhansk, Donetsk and Kharkiv regions, defended Bakhmut and Avdiivka and took part in the liberation of Izium.

Fortuna played in white: Denys Sabatiuk (31) in goal, Volodymyr Plastun, Artem Terekhov, Kristian Turku and Oleksandr Moroziuk in defence, Yevhenii Zadoia and Maksym Pokotyliuk in midfield, Vasyl Koropetskyi and Dmytro Melnychuk on the flanks, and Mykyta Makhynia with new signing Mykyta Dzen up front. Two of the three players registered the day before started: Melnychuk and Dzen. The hosts took the ball straight away.

In the 18th minute Dzen opened the scoring — the ball came off the crossbar and over the line, levelling the tie at 1-1. Six minutes later the debutant had his brace, finishing a cross from Yevhenii Zadoia: 2-0, and Fortuna were in front on aggregate for the first time. He finished his first match for the club with two goals.

After the break the pattern changed: Rokyta began to keep the ball and build attacks. In the 73rd minute the visitors had their best chance — the ball went just past the far post of Sabatiuk’s goal. And in the 81st Ivan Kuts, who had just come on, pulled one back: 2-1, and the tie was level again. Regular time ended that way.

In extra time — two halves of 15 minutes — Fortuna went ahead again. In the 97th right-back Oleksandr Moroziuk crossed from the flank and Mykyta Makhynia turned the ball first time past Serhii Dvornyk — 3-1.

Ten minutes from the end the game was halted by the third air-raid alert of the afternoon: the stadium was cleared and the teams went to shelter. After the all-clear they returned to the pitch, and in the 112th minute Andrii Misiailo — who scored the only goal of the first leg in Rokyta — struck again: 3-2, and 3-3 on aggregate. The tie went to penalties, and Bucha won the shoot-out 4-2.

The alerts took almost as much time as the football itself. The first came at 13:52, shortly after the 29th minute, and lasted about half an hour. The second at 15:05, in the 57th minute, cost roughly another quarter of an hour. The third came at 16:21, and the all-clear only at about 17:36. With extra time and penalties, the match stretched to nearly five hours.

18:15. FULL TIME. Bucha Fortuna won the shoot-out 4-2 and reached the quarter-finals of the Ukrainian Amateur Cup. The match finished 3-2 after extra time, 3-3 on aggregate. Bucha’s scorers: Mykyta Dzen (18, 24) and Mykyta Makhynia (97); for Rokyta — Ivan Kuts (81) and Andrii Misiailo (112).

18:14. The match was completed after the all-clear. Andrii Misiailo scored again for Rokyta in the 112th minute — 3-2 — and the tie was level at 3-3. The winner had to be decided on penalties.

16:21. THE MATCH IS STOPPED FOR A THIRD TIME. Another air-raid alert has been declared in Bucha district. Play was halted in the 110th minute at 3-1, spectators were asked to leave the Yuvileinyi and the teams went to shelter. Less than ten minutes remained.

16:15. The second period of extra time is under way, 3-1. Rokyta have used their last permitted substitution, so the visitors can only change things on the pitch now.

16:13. The first period of extra time ended with no added minutes — 3-1. Fortuna lead the tie with 15 minutes left to play.

16:06. GOAL! 3-1 in the 97th minute — scored by Mykyta Makhynia. Oleksandr Moroziuk crossed from the right and Makhynia turned the ball into the Rokyta net first time. Fortuna are ahead on aggregate again.

15:57. Regular time ended 2:1. The aggregate is 2:2, so the teams go to extra time: two halves of 15 minutes.

15:52. 88th minute, 2-1. Fortuna have pushed up for a third: a corner at the Rokyta goal with almost everyone in the box and the visiting keeper on his line. One goal now would settle the question of extra time.

15:43. GOAL FOR ROKYTA! 2-1 in the 81st minute — scored by Ivan Kuts, who had come on for Volodymyr Samburskyi about ten minutes earlier. The tie is level at 2-2 on aggregate, and extra time is now in sight.

15:38. 76th minute, 2-0. Rokyta substitution: Mykola Boiko on for Vladyslav Hromenko. Fortuna have fresh legs on too: Sviderskyi came on wearing number 19 and with his very first touch played an accurate pass to Makhynia.

15:34. 73rd minute, 2-0. The visitors' best moment of the match: the ball flew towards the far corner of Sabatiuk's goal but went past the post. Rokyta are now arguing heatedly with the referee.

15:27. 67th minute, 2-0. A chance for Fortuna: Zadoia carried a counter, beat his man and set up Melnychuk, whose effort did not find the net. Rokyta are replying with set pieces and Sabatiuk's box is crowded again.

15:21. Play has resumed after the second alert — in the 61st minute, still 2-0. The second break lasted about a quarter of an hour. Andrii Misiailo is now on for Rokyta: last season he was the Poltava region championship's top scorer with 21 goals, and it was he who won the first leg for his side.

15:16. Two details from the AAFU website while the game is paused. The winner of this tie will play the quarter-final on 7 and 14 October. And Fortuna are without administrator Serhii Lisnyk today: he was suspended for this exact match after being sent off in the first leg in Rokyta.

15:06. THE MATCH IS SUSPENDED AGAIN. A new air-raid alert — yellow level, drone threat — was declared in the Bucha district at 15:05. Play was stopped in the 57th minute at 2-0 and the broadcast is paused again. Just before that Rokyta made a substitution: Mykyta Dudka came off for Andrii Misiailo (21) — the man who scored the only goal of the first leg, also after coming on as a substitute.

15:04. 56th minute, 2-0. The pattern has shifted: Rokyta are keeping the ball and building positional attacks for the first time, while Fortuna are more cautious. The maths for the visitors: one goal levels the tie, two would take them through.

14:54. The second half is under way. Fortuna won the ball straight away and are dictating again, while Rokyta look as uncertain as they did in the first half. 2-0.

14:47. HALF-TIME. Bucha Fortuna 2-0 Rokyta. Both goals came from debutant Mykyta Dzen — in the 18th and 24th minutes, the second from a Yevhenii Zadoia delivery. The last chance of the half: Makhynia won a free kick some thirty metres out, but the shot hit the wall. Bucha lead 2-1 on aggregate and are on course for the quarter-finals.

14:28. Play is restarting: the officials are back on the pitch, the teams are taking their positions and the clock is running again — the 31st minute. The score stays 2-0 — about a quarter of an hour of the first half remains, plus stoppage time.

14:25. ALL CLEAR. The air-raid alert in the Bucha district was lifted at 14:23 and the players are back on the Yuvileinyi pitch, warming up before the restart. The break lasted around half an hour.

13:46. GOAL! 2-0 — Mykyta Dzen makes it a brace in the 24th minute. A fine move and a delivery from Yevhenii Zadoia, finished exactly as it should be. The debutant has scored twice inside 24 minutes, and Fortuna lead the tie for the first time — 2-1 on aggregate.

13:40. GOAL! 1-0 — Mykyta Dzen opens the scoring in the 18th minute: the ball goes in off the crossbar. The Fortuna debutant scores in his very first match for the club, and the tie is level at 1-1. Wild scenes at the Yuvileinyi.

13:39. 17th minute, 0-0. The most noticeable player on the pitch is Fortuna debutant Dmytro Melnychuk: the right midfielder has won his side a free kick and has already drawn praise from the coaching staff. Fortuna are keeping the ball in the opposition half.

13:36. 14th minute, 0-0. The sharpest moment of the opening was a Rokyta free kick — taken by a player who can both shoot and cross — but it did not change the score. Now it is a Fortuna player who needs treatment, down by the touchline.

13:33. 11th minute, 0-0. The visitors have had the first shot of the match — a scrappy one. Bucha replied with a diagonal ball from Artem Terekhov to the far flank. Play is stopped for now: a Rokyta player is down near the Fortuna box.

13:28. Fifth minute, 0-0. The hosts have made the better start: Fortuna keep the ball and look for passes into the box, while Rokyta reply with occasional breaks forward.

13:23. Kick-off! Fortuna, in white, attack from left to right and push forward from the first seconds — they have a goal to overturn.

13:22. A minute of silence for the fallen. The ceremonial first kick was given to Vasyl Husakov, a soldier of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade: at the start of the full-scale invasion he served in Bucha's territorial defence, later fighting in the Luhansk, Donetsk and Kharkiv regions, defending Bakhmut and Avdiivka and taking part in the liberation of Izium. In September 2022 he suffered shrapnel wounds to the torso and concussion, and was discharged on health grounds. He holds combat decorations.

How the first leg went

At the Arena Rokyta on 16 September the teams played an even game with few chances: nothing real in the first half, the sharpest moments after the break. The only goal came a quarter of an hour from time from substitute Andrii Misiailo. Fortuna had a clear-cut chance of their own — Danylo Kislov fired at goal but Serhii Dvornyk saved on the line. Who the opponents are

Rokyta are one of the strongest amateur clubs in Poltava region in recent years: regional champions in 2024, winners of the regional Cup and Super Cup in 2025. In their debut season in the Ukrainian amateur championship they went through the first half unbeaten, and last year they reached the Cup quarter-finals. In August 2026 they played Kryvbas in the Ukrainian Cup and lost 0-3. Rokyta are coached by Vitalii Halymurza.

Fortuna’s form

Bucha came into the game after a rout: on Saturday they swept aside the Anatolii Trubin Academy 9-0 in the first leg of the Kyiv Region Cup last 16, with a hat-trick from captain Vasyl Koropetskyi and a brace from Danylo Kislov. That game, however, cost them Ihor Soldat, who left the pitch early with a calf problem, while Vladyslav Horbachenko was injured earlier in Rokyta.

Before this match Fortuna were fifth in the Kyiv region championship with nine points from five matches. Their head coach is Volodymyr Bondarenko.

What comes next

The association has set the quarter-finals of the Ukrainian amateur cup for 7 and 14 October. There will be no draw: under the bracket, Fortuna face Tytan of Kyiv, who beat the reigning Ukrainian champions Agrotekh twice in the last 16. Before meeting in the Cup, the two sides play each other in the Kyiv region championship on Saturday, 26 September. In the semi-final, to be played in 2027, the winner of this tie meets the winner of Budivelnyk/Real Farma v Olimpiia.

In the Kyiv region championship Bucha travel to Tytan of Kyiv on Saturday 26 September, and on 3–4 October they play the second leg of the Kyiv region cup last 16 against the Anatolii Trubin Academy away from home.
