An interceptor drone for the skies over Kyiv region: Bucha delivered its first STING system

The Bucha community has sent the military an aid package worth two million hryvnias. For the first time it includes a STING unmanned aerial system.

This was reported by Bucha City Council.

The STING went to the Separate Presidential Brigade named after Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi. The system will intercept enemy drones over the north of Kyiv region.

That is precisely the sky from which Shahed drones fly at Bucha and neighbouring communities night after night.

For the unmanned systems battalion of the 4th Rubizh operational brigade, the community supplied 200 kilograms of filament for 3D printing STING airframes.

That means troops will print some of the interceptors themselves, on the spot, without waiting for deliveries.

The 12th Azov special forces brigade of the National Guard also received five DJI Avata quadcopters.

STING is a Ukrainian interceptor drone built to shoot down enemy strike drones in the air. It is cheaper than a missile and faster than a Shahed.

As a reminder, neighbouring Irpin channelled its own budget resources into supporting the army.
