Andrii Ivanovych Feshchenko was born in 1988. He was killed on 10 June 2026 while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Serhiivka in the Pokrovsk district of the Donetsk region. He served as a grenadier in the first squad, third platoon, fourth operational battalion.

The Borodianka Settlement Council announced the defender's death.

He returned from Czechia and volunteered

In June 2022 Andrii came back from Czechia — and immediately volunteered to defend Ukraine. First came training in England, then service with the 25th Separate Sicheslav Air Assault Brigade. His call sign was "Maister".

He took part in the liberation of Lyman, later served with the National Guard brigade "Khartiia" and was among those who took a height near Vovchansk. He passed through two of the hardest sectors of the eastern front.

"He lived for his family"

The community remembers Andrii as a man who lived for his family: he worked hard to give them confidence in tomorrow. A loving husband, a caring father, a son, a brother, a nephew.

Even at the front he found ways to remind his family that he loved them and would fight until victory. He leaves behind a wife, a small daughter and his parents.

The farewell route

The funeral takes place today, Wednesday 5 August. At 9:30 the gathering is at the hospital grounds by the pathology building at 3 Semashka Street. At 10:00 there will be a farewell outside the defender's home at 58 Semashka Street.

At 10:20 the cortege will move along Semashka Street to the Oshchadbank, then along Tsentralna Street to the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin at 5A Parkova Street, where the funeral service begins at 10:30. At 11:30 a living corridor will form from the church to the turn before the Evryka store. Andrii Feshchenko will be buried at the New Cemetery in Borodianka.
